On this podcast, Kim is passionate about sharing this message: Rest can’t be earned. It must be given because it is only a gift from Jesus. Rest is not about the life around us but about the Life inside of us. In every gift that Jesus promises to give, it’s a gift to our heart . Knowing that our heart is not our friend, Jesus gives us His heart. With His heart comes His Rest that frees us from the bondage of our very own heart. We are often very big on appearance! But the heart will deceive us into believing that we’re beautiful if the outer looks and feels good, while it desperately tears us down from the inside. Gratefully, God looks in no other place but the heart. He knows where the real damage is. In the place where we are incapable of beautifying, Jesus resides to be that beauty for us. In this beautification comes His Rest.

The best thing about being cleansed is the reward of feeling refreshed and rested. However, the hardest part about being cleansed is being told you're dirty. Being physically dirty reveals what's on us but being spiritually dirty reveals what's in us. Being cleaned on the outside is a simple scrubbing, but being cleaned on the inside involves a cutting, scraping and a stitching back together.
Join me today as I share a few of my own imperfections.
To be cleansed, we must confess we're dirty, and in the cleansing, there is Rest!

Every storm in life has a purpose, and ultimately it's so that Jesus is known and glorified. But it's more beautiful and deeper than you think.
Not knowing who Jesus really is, PERSONALLY, will affect our worship In this particular storm, the disciples (followers of Jesus) on the boat didn't worship Jesus until they knew who He really was! Not knowing who Jesus really is, PERSONALLY, will also affect our rest The disciples didn't find rest until they knew who Jesus really was.

While the water was piling into the boat, Jesus slept. He rested.
As a Teacher, Jesus is always teaching a lesson.
Here He shows us what to do, when things start to pile up.
And that is to follow His lead in resting WITH Him, in the midst of our storms.
In the Rest, He always takes care of the cause of the storm and brings peace. Are you facing a storm today?

When we COME, looking for Jesus, we will FIND Him.

Our hearts are necessary for survival and what the heart needs is necessary for life. Oftentimes, we get mad at God for not giving us what we verbally ask for, when in reality, He's looking at our hearts and giving us what we need for survival. What we need for survival in our eyes may not be what we need for survival in the eyes of God. There's rest in knowing that when we go to Jesus for anything, what He gives us will always be what we need for survival!

Anxiety is not something you can just overcome on your own. It is not something you just “have to get over.” Doing anything in your own strength will only make things worse (Philippians 4:6-7). Anxiety is something that the Bible tells us not to do, but the reality is that just because we know what not to do doesn’t mean that we know how to not do what we shouldn’t. Paul says we desire to do good but don’t know how to (Romans 7:18-19).
Rest from Jesus comes when we can admit we cannot fix our problems. Jesus is the ONLY one who can cleanse us from anxiety, and He does this on His own.

We all have many weaknesses, but Jesus came to die for those weaknesses. Many of us use these weaknesses against ourselves. Jesus wants our weaknesses because He paid for them with His life.
